BUILT AROUND REAL BUSINESS PROCESSES
Where we help
An update may look right on screen while disrupting an approval, invoice or laboratory workflow. Melling Systems helps delivery teams check the wider impact before users depend on it.
A focused check of agreed business-critical workflows following a release, upgrade or configuration change.
Additional testing capacity for software vendors, implementation partners and QA consultancies facing a busy delivery period.
Turn business processes into reusable checks, giving testers and users a clearer route through acceptance testing.
A straightforward engagement
Start with one system, one release and a clearly defined set of workflows. Scope, access, timings and deliverables are agreed before testing begins.
Review the change, identify high-impact workflows and confirm the test environment, data and acceptance criteria.
Execute the agreed scenarios, record actual outcomes and document issues with steps your team can reproduce.
Retest agreed fixes and hand over the evidence, outstanding issues and reusable test pack. Your team retains the release decision.
Meet the founder
Melling Systems is led by James Melling, bringing experience in business systems implementation, release management, QA and operational improvement.
At Alfred H Knight, James led LIMS regression testing and release management across major sites. At K3 Business Technology Group, he managed a Sage X3 implementation and led QA teams, alongside work to improve finance and Quote-to-Cash processes.
That experience shapes a practical approach: test how the software supports the work, document what happens, and make the findings useful to both technical teams and business users.

Before we start
Business-software vendors, ERP and LIMS implementation partners, and testing consultancies that need focused manual QA capacity. It is especially suited to teams with complex operational workflows and an upcoming release or upgrade.
Yes. A sensible starting point is one release and a limited group of important workflows. The scope, fee and delivery schedule are agreed after a short discussion of the system, available documentation and access requirements.
The core offer is manual functional regression testing, test documentation and UAT support. Automation engineering, penetration testing and performance testing are outside the standard service scope.
Testing is delivered remotely using an agreed test environment and communication process. Access permissions, data handling, working arrangements and any client security requirements are confirmed before work begins.
Let's talk about your next change
